The Headley Inn, has been a familiar landmark in Muskingum County, Ohio since the construction of the National Road (America's first federally funded highway) made its way through Zanesville in 1831. Built between 1833 to 1835, the Headley is a beautifully restored, historic sandstone Inn listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Uzal Headley built the Inn to provide lodging for workers that were building the National Road. After the road was completed the Headley became a regular stop for stage coaches and travelers heading West. Since that time it has served many roles from tavern to five star restaurant. It has special architectural features such as 18 inch thick sandstone block walls cut from nearby cliffrock, board and batten doors with original hardware, original hand decorated baseboards, corner staircases, and six fireplaces.
The Headley Inn Bed and Breakfast can accomodate small, intimate weddings and events inside the Inn and the outdoor pavilion can accommodate up to 100 guests. Customizable wedding packages are available that include Weddings, Receptions and Bed and Breakfast stay. Please call for details.
